Intermediate Japanese, which I took in Japan during Spring 2013, continued studying Japanese as it relates to Japanese culture. Within this class we were given the freedom to make and present Japanese presentation, which was something that I felt really helped the progression of my Japanese speaking abilities. Unlike Intro to Japanese, I felt that we were being taken a lot more seriously, which is why they allowed us to make presentations to our classmates. For our class final, we got to interview a few Japanese students and get their opinions on the topic we chose to do our project on. This, I felt, was very useful to the class as a whole. We got to develop the questions we asked, and then ask them to the Japanese students. After we collected the Data, we had to organize it and then relay it back to the other students. In correlation with MLO 1 I learned how to communicate a variety of topics in Japanese, and in this class the means of communication was collecting data, analyzing the data, and the presenting it. Further more, I learned how to create primary research questions from a topic that I was interesting in studying about.
To continue my learning, I would like to continue studying more about Japanese onomatopoeia, as well as contniue developing my Japanese presentation skills.
